This year’s programme focused particularly on prevention and innovation in MS research and care, with contributions from Italian and international researchers across several disciplines. The congress also included the presentation of the 2026 Rita Levi-Montalcini Prize and the publication of FISM’s annual research compendium summarising projects funded by the foundation during the previous year.
FISM is an important partner in the Horizon Europe-funded EBV-MS project, contributing both scientific expertise and a strong patient-centred perspective through its close connection with the Italian MS community.
At the congress, the EBV-MS team presented the project’s overarching prevention strategy and ongoing research activities focusing on the relationship between EBV and MS. The meeting provided an important opportunity to engage with the international MS community and to strengthen collaboration between academic institutions, patient organisations, and research foundations.
The EBV-MS consortium is grateful to FISM and the Italian MS Society for hosting this important scientific meeting and for their continued partnership within the project.
