About the research school

CompLiNOR is a national PhD-level research school funded by the Research Council of Norway (NFR) designed to strengthen and elevate doctoral education in computational life sciences. It falls under NFR's strategic initiative to provide support for follow up on national subject evaluations within life sciences, natural sciences and technology completed in 2024.

Coordination

Coordinated out of the Computational Biology Unit (CBU) (external link) at the University of Bergen (UiB), the school bridges the gap between theoretical modeling and biological data, from molecules to ecosystems. The curriculum bridges medicine, biology, (bio-)chemistry, and ecology with mathematics, statistics, and computer science. CompLiNOR offers specialized courses and workshops for PhD students across Norway, and it connects young researchers with leading national and international experts in the field at an annual conference.
