About the research school

NutriNOR is a national research school in nutrition funded by the Research Council of Norway. It is open to all PhD students in the field of nutrition and food science in Norway. It also collaborates with research schools in Germany and the Netherlands. NutriNOR is led by Professor Jutta Dierkes at the University of Bergen. The research school is supported by a scientific coordinator, an administrative coordinator, and a steering board.

Purpose

The main purpose of the research school is to support PhD students in the field, develop their competence, and strengthen their position on the job market. NutriNOR focuses on both the academic and the professional development of its members, and many of NutriNOR’s activities combine the two aspects. Also, the research school emphasizes the importance of social activities to develop a sense of peer community.

Research school activities

NutriNOR's activities are designed to prepare doctorate candidates for careers in both research and industry. Members will have access to the Leadership Training Program, Summer School, PhD Conference, Mentoring Program, internships, and alumni network.
