The University Library offers courses and guidance in literature searching, source use, reference management tools and academic writing. The courses are available as open events, integrated into study programmes, or as individual guidance, and are adapted to students, PhD candidates and staff at UiB.

Open courses

The University Library runs open courses that students and staff can sign up for themselves. Topics include literature searching, reference management tools, data management and the use of artificial intelligence in academic work.

Courses and seminars for PhD candidates and researchers

The University Library offers specialized seminars for PhD candidates and staff:

  • Systematic literature searches: exhaustive search strategies for systematic reviews
  • Publishing and Open Access: publishing agreements, OA funds and rights
  • Making your research visible: Cristin/NVA, ORCID, Altmetrics
  • Bibliometrics: analyses and metrics for research

Tailored courses for study programmes

The University Library offers teaching tailored to study programmes, adapted to the students' level and discipline. The content of the teaching is preferably developed in collaboration with academic staff so that our teaching supports academic progression in the programmes.
