Tuesday–Saturday: 10am–4pm
Sunday: 11am–5pm

Tickets
You need a ticket to visit the museum. Tickets can be bought at the museum or online. The ticket covers the whole museum.
- Free admission for children and young people (0–18), UiB students, companions, Bergen Card holders and ICOM members
- Adult: NOK 180
- Concession/student: NOK 140
- Students – upon presentation of a valid student ID: NOK 140,-
- UiB students – Free of charge upon presentation of a valid student ID.
- UiB employees NOK 140,-
– upon presentation of an employee card - Employees of the University Museum – upon presentation of an employee card: Free.

Annual pass
Annual pass: NOK 500
Treat yourself, or someone you love, to a whole year of great museum experiences! You can buy an annual pass in our museum shop, and then visit the museum as many times as you like.
The annual pass covers admission that would otherwise require an ordinary adult ticket, but does not cover entry to events with a limited number of tickets. The pass is valid for one year from the date of purchase. The pass is personal and may only be used by its holder.
How does it work?
Show your annual pass and ID in the museum shop. You will then receive a free ticket, which you use to enter the museum's exhibitions.
Groups and school classes
Groups (from 10 people): NOK 140 per person
School classes and kindergartens book a visit via School visits and guided tours.

What can you experience at the museum?
Meet one of the world's largest collections of whale skeletons, dive into the deep sea at 3,000 metres, or join the dramatic story of the Earth's crust.
During your visit
Food and drink
Café Christie (Godt Brød) in the museum's foyer is open to everyone – even without a ticket.
Food and drink are not permitted inside the exhibitions.
The museum shop
In the shop, our knowledgeable hosts can give you information about your visit. You can pick up a floor plan, making it easier to find your way around the large building. If you have children with you, we recommend picking up a wonder trail (undringsløype) – it earns your child a prize when handed in after the visit!
The shop sells items related to the museum's subjects. Here you will find everything from soft toys, garden equipment and beautiful cups and stationery to rocks and meteorites, flasks and books. The range is constantly developing and changing, so it's well worth popping in to see for yourself. Welcome in.
Cloakroom and storage
Lockable lockers on the ground floor. Bags and backpacks can be stored in the museum's cloakroom.

On the ground floor.
Prams
To be parked outside the building; a lock can be borrowed from the shop. We have a few umbrella strollers available to borrow, but recommend bringing your own baby carrier for babies who cannot yet sit.
Photography
Feel free to take photos for private use, but flash and additional lighting are not permitted in the exhibitions. Feel free to share using #mittmuseum. For commercial use, contact mittmuseum@uib.no.

Historical Museum closed for renovation
The building that used to house the cultural history exhibitions, the Historical Museum, is being renovated. Some exhibitions are shown at Muséplassen 3, and others can be experienced as digital exhibitions. In Our exhibitions you can see what's on right now.
University Gardens
Muséhagen is located right next to the museum in the city centre and is free all year round. The Arboretum and Bergen Botanical Garden are located at Milde, south of central Bergen, with their own opening hours and directions.
