About the research group

The research interests of the members of the research group include traditional civil procedure topics, such as rules of evidence and contracts in civil proceedings, alternatives to court proceedings, European civil procedure law, and socio-legal approaches to courts and dispute resolution. 

The members of the group publish widely both nationally and internationally and are engaged in research projects and cooperation with scholars across the globe. The group regularly invites both other Norwegian and international scholars to seminars and research meetings. 

The members of the group also engage in cooperation with practitioners, contribute to legislative work through evaluations and consultations, and regularly have public speaking engagements for various professionals.

Guest Researcher Programme

As part of the project "Primary Dispute Resolution" (2023-2027), coordinated by the research group, it is possible to apply for funding for shorter research visits at the Faculty of Law, UiB. The Guest Researcher Programme is open to researchers at all levels. Those interested are encouraged to contact the manager of the research group, and leader of the programme, Anna.Nylund@uib.no, and attach their CV and a description of research interests. 

Teaching

Members of the research group teach the following courses in the Master's programme at the Faculty of Law:

JUS3519 is taught in English. The members supervise student theses in civil procedure law and adjacent topics each semester.
