Legal Didactics
The research group is centered on how teaching and evaluation within legal studies should be conducted. The group is the first in Norway dedicated to legal didactics, and is both a community for researchers within the field and a resource for lecturers at the Faculty of Law in Bergen.
About the research group
The group aims to research how law should be taught and learned. This includes a particular focus on how the distinctive character of law as a field of science, with respects to both methodology and substance, should influence the lecturer's approach to teaching.
In addition to researching conventional teaching and learning methods, several of the group's members are involved in projects researching how new technology ought to be used to teach law.
Furthermore, parallel to being an arena for didactic research, the group is a helpful community and resource for research employees at the Faculty to further develop their competence within teaching. In this manner, the research group also contributes to research based academic development of the teaching practice at the Faculty of Law.
