The title of the thesis is «Becoming a Canon: Texts, Community and Authority in the Canonization of Minhāj al-ṭālibīn wa-ʿumdat al-muftīn on the Swahili Coast, 1856-1963 CE» The two external reviewers were Associate Professor Elke E. Stockreiter (external link), American University of Washington and Professor Norbert Oberauer (external link), Universität Münster. The main supervisor was Professor Anne K. Bang, University of Bergen with co-supervisors Associate professor Eirik Hovden and Professor Christian Mauder (external link), Freie Universität Berlin. In addition to handing in his thesis ahead of schedule, Noor also mananged to secure a postdoctoral postion at Freie Universität Berlin and publish two journal articles.
