Management of the collections
The museum looks after the cultural history and natural history collections, older archives and photographs for the future. We receive and follow up finds, help students, researchers and the public use the collections, and handle loans. Through conservation and preventive care, we maintain good conditions in storage and exhibitions, including climate and pest control.
Study visits
Only a small part of the University Museum's collections is on display to the public. Behind the exhibitions are millions of natural history and cultural history objects that are preserved and used in research and public engagement. The museum enables students and researchers to study objects from the collections by appointment.

The archaeological and cultural history collections are available for study. This service is open to students, researchers and the public by appointment.
Please note that study visits are not possible before 1 March 2027, due to the relocation of the cultural history collections.
