About the research group
Om forskergruppen
Medical Education Research Group (Med.Ed) is a multidisciplinary research community at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Bergen. Our members come from different health professions and academic disciplines, united by a shared interest in improving education for current and future health professionals.
Our research explores how students and professionals learn, develop, and thrive across the continuum of health professions education. We study teaching, learning, assessment, feedback, supervision, mentoring, clinical training, professional development, and the use of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and virtual reality in education. We also investigate how educational environments can promote equity, diversity, inclusion, belonging, and participation for learners from diverse backgrounds.
The group brings together researchers at different career stages, from doctoral candidates to experienced academics. Through regular meetings and collaboration, we provide a supportive environment for developing new ideas, sharing work in progress, building research partnerships, and strengthening educational scholarship across the faculty.
Our ambition is to contribute to high-quality, evidence-informed health professions education and to advance educational research locally, nationally, and internationally.
