Teacher Professionalism and Education (UPP)
The research group Teacher Professionalism and Education (UPP) focuses on questions of human learning, development and education both at the school level and in higher education, and how to better facilitate such processes. In addition, the research group is concerned with the interconnections between learning, teaching and assessment. Concerning these subjects, the research group wishes to contribute with new knowledge to gain a deeper understanding of both theoretical and practical perspectives. The group’s interests allows for a plurality of approaches, however a common perspective is a close connection to practical issues. The members of UPP consists of researchers affiliated with teacher education and university pedagogy at the Institute of Education, Faculty of Psychology, at the University of Bergen. In addition, the group consists of PhD-fellows and external members who currently are or have previously been PhD-fellows supervised by members of the group. Some of the group’s members are also associated with BioCEED, Center of Excellence in Biology Education.
