About the panel
The Norwegian Panel of Journalists is open to all research communities and aims to ensure high-quality data collection.
The Norwegian Panel of Journalists is an internet-based panel that invites Norwegian journalists and editors to respond to short surveys up to twice a year. This makes it possible to examine how journalists prioritize and perceive key issues, and how their views evolve over time. Our goal is for the journalist panel to become a continuous source of applicable and relevant knowledge about the role of the media in society.
The Norwegian Panel of Journalists is part of a coordinated survey effort in the national research infrastructure KODEM, that also gathers information about attitudes and viewpoints among the general public (through the Norwegian Citizen Panel), elected officials (through the Norwegian panel of politicians), and public administrators (through the Norwegian panel of public administrators). This enables innovative research on the relationships between the various groups that together make up Norway’s political community.
The Norwegian Panel of Journalists is led by Kristoffer Kolltveit (external link), professor at the Department of Political Science at the University of Oslo, and Toril Aalberg (external link), professor at the Department of Sociology and Political Science, NTNU. They, along with a broadly composed scientific committee, are mandated to make ongoing decisions on behalf of the Norwegian Journalist Panel.
