Workspaces and group rooms

The University Library's six libraries have individual student workspaces and group rooms. Most of the spaces can be used without prior reservation, while some group rooms and certain workspaces must be booked. The libraries have different types of workspaces available - check the individual library for details.

What kinds of student workspaces are there

Types of workspaces vary between the libraries, but most of the libraries have:

  • Quiet workspaces: individual spaces for focused work
  • Collaboration zones: group tables and booths
  • Group rooms: for collaboration, sometimes bookable via UiB's booking system
  • Open lounge areas: informal spaces with armchairs

How to book a group room

Group rooms and certain workspaces are booked via UiB's booking system (external link). Log in with your UiB username. Booking length and rules vary by library.
