About the research group
The research group is a meeting place for researchers, fellows and master's students with an interest in journalism. The group is interdisciplinary and explores journalism from different academic perspectives and with a variety of methods.
The projects of the group's members are wide-ranging and range from studies of specific areas of journalism, such as investigative journalism, sports and culture; journalism's encounter with and implementation of digital technologies, such as visual technologies and AI; sociological investigations of the journalistic role, professional ideology and norms; to investigations of media policy, ethics, economics and journalism's audience. Central to the group's ongoing activity is an interest in how digital technology and the computerization of society have changed the journalistic institution and its societal role
